For this job, we diagnosed a boiler that failed to light during the ignition trial as part of a broiler service visit that included system protection and plumbing upgrades. The heating system was evaluated to confirm proper glycol levels in the heating loop to help prevent future freezing, and the loop was filled and purged as needed to remove trapped air. The boiler was then observed through the full call-for-heat sequence to identify where the ignition failure was occurring. Components inspected and tested included the thermostat signal, control board response, ignition assembly, flame sensor, gas valve operation, safety limits, and gas supply to the unit. Electrical connections and wiring were checked for secure contact and proper voltage. In addition, two new ball valves were installed on the domestic water distribution system to allow the upstairs plumbing to be isolated while maintaining water service to the downstairs living quarters.
