We arrived at the home where the homeowner’s mother-in-law showed us the areas of concern. Water damage was observed in the garage and outside of the property. After a quick inspection, it was initially believed that the issue was related to a slab leak, and the plan was to proceed with a full leak search and reroute. Shortly afterward, the homeowner’s wife arrived and walked us to the living room. She explained that a hot water line had previously leaked and been exposed in the wall, where a repair attempt was made. Following this repair, water began showing up on the opposite side of the room near the laundry and garage area. The original leak was located behind the water heater. No picture of the line could be obtained since the wall was patched and the area is now located behind a wine cellar. No documentation or photos of the original repair were available.
