Upon arrival, we met with the homeowner’s brother-in-law to discuss the plumbing concerns at the property. After explaining the available options, we urged the homeowner to move forward with the $225 diagnostic inspection, as we strongly believe that with that approach, we would have likely been able to pinpoint the issue. However, the homeowner expressed uncertainty and leaned toward the more extensive two-story camera inspection, which we informed would cost $658 due to the elevated access requirements from the roof vent. We also discussed the claims made by the pest control professional on-site, who stated that smoke was observed entering a first-floor light fixture and believed this to be the result of a broken drain line. While we remain open to performing whatever service the homeowner contracts us to do, we felt it was important to provide professional context based on our experience.
