Came out today to provide a few different estimates on water heater options as customer is currently moving in but they do not like the idea of gas being inside the home so they have the current gas tanked heater capped off and the gas supply off to the home. I explained that removal of the gas 50 gallon heater and installing a standard electric or a hybrid 80 gallon water heater is a guaranteed way to ensure the 50 gallon bath tub could be supplied with hot water and would ensure everything in the home gets sufficient hot water and flow rate won’t be an issue. I explained with tankless heaters they have flow monitors inside the device and if to much water is being demanded at one time the heater will shut down and throw error codes. Tankless heaters are made to be point of use heaters and having a big bathtub with high flow could mean it won’t heat properly or will stop heating completely.
