Demand call for gas system from 2018 not cooling properly. Upon arrival customer showed me around to where the equipment is located and mentioned that last month we changed the capacitor outside. During my inspection I turned the thermostat on to cool and dropped it to 65. I then went up to the attic and the system was on in cool mode, the compressor outside was running as well. I checked pressures and found the system to be very low. I did a visual inspection and found a spot at the bottom of the condenser coil where there was oil residue. I put my leak detector and it started going off immediately. I showed my findings to the customer and had the bandaid solution vs permanent solution. She wants a permanent solution but for now she wants to just add refrigerant. She knows there’s no guarantee it will last and there’s no warranty or money back for this repair.
