Preformed single system heat maintenance on a 2016 heat pump. I tested all electrical components on the air handler inside. I pulled the filter to check cleanliness and noticed it was hard to remove and very snug. Tempture being supplied to the home was at 100 and 70 being returned to the unit. I proceeded outside where I tested all electrical components and start and run amps for the compressor. I found that the capacitor and Contactor were testing lower than manufacturer specifications. Also the compressor was starting high on amps. Over 100 amps. I also noticed the u it didn’t have any surge protection as well. I provided estimates to the clients, they are going to talk it over and figure out what they would like to do.
