Preformed safety check on a 2012 carrier furnace. Upon arrival client stated that the inspector came out and noticed the system did not have a sediment trap on the system. I found that the system does not have one at the time of inspection. I provided estimate to have sediment trap added to the gas line. I tested all electrical components and safeties on the furnace. All tested within manufacturer specifications. Furnace is in good operating condition. I also tested for gas leaks, no gas leaks were present at the time of inspection. There is a little rust on the opening of the heat exchanger but not enough to affect the system. Client elected to have sediment tap installed on the unit. Installed the sediment trap and leak tested it again to insure no leaks were detected. Unit was heating upon departure.
