I performed maintenance today on a Lennox furnace. Upon arrival, the system was short cycling in heating mode with a failed flame alert on the thermostat. This alert is indicative of a dirty flame sensor as it cannot verify there is a flame to the circuit board. After testing all mechanical, safety and performance systems, all electrical components including the blower motor tested in range. After I cleaned the flame sensor the unit would now operate uninterrupted with an optimal temperature differential. The filter was still clean and filters are being provided by the customer.
