Came out to call for a system not cooling properly. Customer stated that the AC system wasn’t operating, and the home was getting warm. He thought the lawn guy might have done something to the unit on accident. I checked system operation and found no signs of severe external damage. Some hail dents, but nothing major. System is from 98 and showing its age. Cycled system on and it came on with no problems. I did find the system low on refrigerant. Due to age and refrigerant the system uses, I do recommend customer look into replacement in the near future. Customer hasn’t had any issues with the system until now. Customer wanted to charge system to get it cooling for now. I added 1.7lbs of R22 to get proper super heat of 20 degrees. System is now cooling properly at this time.
