I arrived for a new customer new home no cool. I spoke with the homeowner and found that the system has not had a filter in it and the system is freezing up. I inspected the outdoor system and found the system refrigerant charge to be low. I then inspected the indoor furnace and evaporator coil and found the filter to be completely stopped up and the blower wheel and evaporator coil to be clean. The filter had not been replaced properly within two years. I removed the filter and installed a new filter that was in the furnace closet. The system is installed behind the dryer. You have to move the dryer every time the filter needs to be replaced. I then checked the systems refrigerant charge and found it to fall within normal range. I recommended for me to cut in new filter grills and clean and seal the return cavity properly so the dryer will not have to be removed every time the filter needs to be replaced.
