Came out to call. Customer said AC wasn’t blowing cool air, but was running. She had it shut off when I got there. I had customer turn it on so I could see what was going on. After I let system run for a few minutes I checked refrigerant pressures and found system low on refrigerant. Seeing that the system is 14 years old and uses R-22 refrigerant, I went over options with customer. Discussed repair vs replace with customer. I performed a complimentary leak search on the major components to see if I could find any obvious leaks. I used my leak detector and found a significant leak on the suction side king valve, and another in the evaporator coil. Discussed what I found with customer. She wants me to go ahead and charge the system with refrigerant and also different options for replacing the system. There are no guarantees on the 2.1lbs of R-22 refrigerant added to system. AC is cooling properly at this time.
