Today I had the pleasure of conducting maintenance on a 4 year old Carrier system. Upon arrival , homeowner stated the system was operational. He provided filters for replacement. I started by verifying system cleanliness and found the system pristine. I then verified all amps temps and pressures and found the condenser capacitor was out of specs. It is to read 45 mfd +/- 5% but I read it at 42.02. I also found the system inrush (LRA) out of specs. It is to read 109 amps but I read it at 136.9. I discussed my findings with the homeowner and recommended replacing the capacitor and adding a hard start kit. He respectfully declined at this time. All conditions otherwise normal at time of departure.
