Summer AC tune up on ductless mini split unit that we installed last July, 2020. Customer has had a condensate leak on this unit since they switched it to AC mode this June. They are also wanting to have the unit serviced. Looked over system inside and outside, checked condensate line and found it was backed up about a foot outside, and the inside was dripping at the fastener to the evaporator drain pan. After cleaning out line and measuring proper fall, found the nipple leading from drain pan to be cracked all around. This part will need to be ordered special, will call customer back with details on it after researching. Checked electrical, washed condenser, vacuumed filters and confirmed proper operation of unit in cooling .and heating modes, other than the broken piece that will need to be replaced. Left unit shut to off position at outdoor disconnect for time being.
