Fall service tune ups on 2 heat pump and air handler systems. Upstairs system has not been working well. Inspected and found system not powering on at air handler, due to water filling back up drain float switch. With customer approval, cleaned back up drain and added drain pan treatment. Tested and found that contactor was also bad. Tried replacing with identical unit that customer had for spare parts, but that contactor had gone bad from a compressor burn out. Replaced contactor with a new one under parts warranty, but still need to charge for labor. Upstairs system now cooling properly, also cleaned out both heat pump condensers while repairing unit outside. Changed filters, customer supplied. Air handler tune ups. Tested drains, evaporator coils, blowers, blower capacitors, sequencers and heat strips. Tested reversing valves, and unit operation in heating, emergency heat and back to cooling modes.
