Today I had the pleasure of conducting maintenance on a 15 year old Carrier system. Upon arrival, homeowner stated the system has been working fine and the filters were recently changed. I started by verifying system cleanliness and found the ducts and blower assembly dirty and in need of cleaning. I then verified all amps temps and pressures. I found the compressor inrush (LRA) out of manufacturer specifications. It is not to read over 109 amps but I read it at 118.2 amps. I discussed my findings with the homeowner and recommended adding a hard start kit, clean the blower assembly, and clean the ducts. The homeowner would like to take some time to consider the options then will call in when ready. All conditions normal at time of departure.
