I arrived at our clients home for a no AC call. Our client had noticed it was getting warmer inside his home earlier this morning. He verified that the indoor equipment was on and working. Outside he saw that the condenser fan motor was spinning but could not hear the compressor running. I immediately checked and tested the outdoor unit and found a failed capacitor. I showed this to I Stephen and we discussed replacement options. We also discussed adding a hard start kit to the outdoor equipment to help keep the system running within manufacture specifications. He declined the compressor saver at this time. Once I replaced the capacitor I measured the temperatures at the indoor air handler. I also measured the amps for the various components outside. I showed all my findings to Stephen and I will send him an estimate for the hard start kit. The unit is cooling properly on departure.
