The reason for today’s visit was customer had a single pole light switch in master bath room that did not work. While doing my performance and safety assessment, I noticed multiple points of concern. The panel was a 2002 Homeline QO MLO with double tapped neutrals. I walked throughout home with customer and pointed out things that I saw. The home had devices that were very loose and the springs were worn in the receptacles to the point that plugs were falling out. While doing P.S.A I also saw outdated Carbon/smoke combo in the center of the living room. Customer did not have any smoke detectors in bedrooms. While plug checking, I saw one of the GFCI’s on the kitchen island had a broken face on the device. I also noticed that the washer did not have any GFCI protection as per NEC code. Customer declined any work at this time and only approved discounted service charge.
