Reason for today’s visit with the customer was quoting a panel, attic fan, and redevice. The panel is a split bus cutler-hammer. I noticed lack of grounding and aluminum wires sharing terminals and lugs. A large majority of the wires inside the branch circuits are aluminum meaning we will need aluminum remediation during the redevice. The home is also missing GFCI protection and does not have interconnected smoke detectors. The attic fan has been disconnected from the junction box. Inside the junction box is aluminum and copper splices. Customer has been provided quotes for the panel, redevice, and attic fan. At this time customer is deciding if he would like to move forward with the home but we discussed financing the job as well. He was not informed that the home had aluminum wiring until today.
