- Replacement of the Panel - Updating the grounding and bonding in the home - Replacement of the Service cable - Installation of a new meter can - V.I.P Membership - Installation of a surge protector Todays work 8/15/25 - Reason for today’s visit with the customer was a heavy up panel replacement. We updated the overhead service drop and landed it inside a new meter can. We also installed two new ground rods on the exterior of the home. We then ran the ground rod wire and the service cable in to the panel where we installed a new 30 space QO. We also installed a new cold water ground and bonded the water heater. For the panel we installed a surge protector and then properly labeled it. To make the new panel fit we had to cut roughly about two inches higher into the drywall than originally anticipated but the customer was contacted before we did so. At this time all work has been completed and the inspection is ready to be scheduled.
Quote to install new 350 amp electric system for the home. We will obtain electrical permits and inspection for this project. We will obtain PepCO work order and organize their inspection/ work. Installation to meet national/ local codes and safety requirements. These tasks are outlined below in the line items- panel, electrical grounding, bonding, breakers, and misc. Current panels are hazardous and heavily over heating. We would replace current panels with new QO products that offer limited lifetime warranty. Installation of whole home surge protectors to further assist in protection against harmful voltage spikes while protecting sensitive appliances. Surge reflects lifetime warranty. Run new dedicated circuit for disposal for customer supplied air switch.
The reason for today’s visit with customer was to quote an upgrade to the old electrical system. When we arrived we saw a 79’ QO panel with many signs of hazards. Some hazards involved were unsized wires, over heating bus bar, service cable deteriorating, grounds and neutrals tapped, and missing knock outs. Today we also saw sub panels that were wired incorrectly and sized small for service cable. We checked out the grounding and bonding for the customer as well as talked about running a new dedicated circuit for an electrical wall heater insert. Customer received solutions on changing out the system from a 200 amp to a 350 and will be contacting if deciding to move forward.
This solution includes the installation of a new 30A 240V receptacle and new breaker for panel. We have installed a new breaker 30A breaker and 4 prong dryer receptacle.
Customer has a 125 amp max panel in basement This collusion includes removing 100 amp seu cable and installing a 200 amp seu cable from overhead line down to a new meter can. Customer has pepco and they do not supply meter cans so we will provide one and install it on side of home. We will also install 2 new ground rods outside of home and run a number 4 ground wire to both of them then into the new panel. We will remove existing electrical panel and install a new moister barrier board for new panel. We will install a 200 amp 42 space main breaker electrical panel We will install all new ARC fault and ARC fault gfci combo breakers to replace the ones that were already in existing electrical panel and label panel We will install a whole home surge protector to protect homes electronics and homes utilities from potential power surges Customers cold water ground is already done correctly and the home can not be bonded at the water heater due to pvc pipes Permits and inspections.
