Pride Plumbing was called by the customer to come out and pump out their septic tank. We arrived with our septic pumping truck; located and uncovered the home’s septic tank, removed its lid, pumped it out, and cleaned the tank’s filter. When we went to check the drainpipes going to the tank for proper effluent flow, we found that there was a second drain line going to a second septic tank and it had a large root ball in it. We provided cost estimates to 1) dig up the drain line between the two septic tanks, replace it with new PVC piping and fittings, and reseal both tank penetrations; 2) pump out the second septic tank; 3) pull and clean a sewage ejection pump and replace its float switch and check valve.
