Pride Plumbing came out and provided a cost estimate to either rebuild or replace a leaking Zurn 975XL3 reduced pressure zone (RPZ) backflow. A rebuild would require us to, after shutting off the water, remove and replace the unit's cap, relief valve, check valve #1, check valve #2, and all rubber O-rings and gaskets. A replacement would require us to, after shutting off the water, remove the defective backflow; install the new backflow assembly with new gaskets, bolts and nuts; and test it for leaks and proper operation. Once the RPZ assembly passes inspection, we will file the certification paperwork with the appropriate agencies.

Pride Plumbing was called out for sewage backing up into the home. We used a water pressure jetter device at a cleanout underneath the home and cleared a blockage in the main outside sewer septic drain line. We tested multiple fixtures for proper drainage with no issues. We inserted a camera into the drain line, and it revealed damage from roots. Based on this, we provided a cost estimate to 1) trench a ditch from the house to the town sewer tap to expose and remove the outside main sewer septic drain line; 2) install a new 4-inch PVC sewer drain line (connecting it to the main drain line under the home) along with proper cleanouts and fittings per code; 3) install tracer wire in the ditch along with the new sewer drain line; and 4) backfill, tamp, and spread grass seed and straw after the work has been inspected and approved by Richmond County's Inspection Department.

Pride Plumbing was called out for a leaking ball-style Delta bathtub/shower faucet valve. We replaced the seats, washers, and springs and corrected the issue. We provided a cost estimate to replace the faucet valve with a new Delta model with chrome trim. This would include cutting an access in the shower wall and replacing the valve along with short sections of its hot and cold-water supply lines with new PEX piping and fittings. We also provided a cost estimate to either rebuild a leaking Gerber toilet tank’s flush assembly (this would include replacing the tank's gasket and bolts, water fill valve, flapper, and above-floor braided stainless steel water supply line) or replace the toilet with either a new customer-supplied model or a new Pride Plumbing supplied Gerber Viper model.

Pride Plumbing was called out to investigate the cause of a water stain on a downstairs ceiling. We cut an access in the ceiling and found that the leak was being caused by an incorrectly installed bathtub/shower drain assembly. We cut out and removed the leaking shower drain assembly and reinstalled a new section of PVC pipe and P-trap, attaching back onto the old PVC drain piping with new Fernco couplings. We tested for leaks with no further issues.

Pride Plumbing came out and replaced a leaking 40-gallon electric Whirlpool water heater with a new 40-gallon electric Rheem PROE40-M2-RH95 model. First, after disconnecting its electrical connections and inlet and outlet water lines, we removed and disposed of the old water heater. Then we installed the new water heater, ball water shut-off valves, PEX and stainless-steel water supply lines to the water heater connectors, a brass drain valve, and wired up the electrical connections to the new water heater (adding a Romex connector). Finally, we bled the air out of the water lines, ensured that the unit’s temperature and pressure (T&P) relief valve was properly vented, and set the unit to its appropriate operating temperature.
