Today James returned to the home to confirm the suggested repairs and help determine the best way forward. The unit is from 2015 and low on refrigerant. James located a leak in the filter dryer near the condenser. The technician before James noted a leak in the evaporator coil, but James was not able to locate a leak in the coil. The unit seems to be in okay working condition (after we replace the leaking filter dryer), but the outside unit is severely corroded. At this time the recommendation is to fix the system and plan for replacement. The inside unit is very tight and some research is needed to choose the best replacement option. Paige also plans to replace the water heater so this might give us more room for the air handler. We are returning today to replace the leaking dryer and recharge the system.
