No cooling, client wants a second opinion because another company was out here and diagnosed a bad compressor. Upon arrival started up AC system. Indoor fan came on, however, condenser did not. Checked power at outdoor disconnect box to condenser and not getting any voltage. Checked compressor windings, getting continuity at all compressor windings, also checked each winding to ground, not getting any short to ground. Checked circuit breaker panel and found compressor circuit breaker on. Tried resetting breaker a few times to see if it would send power to condenser. Still not getting any 240 V to condenser. Needs to be diagnosed by electrician to determine why voltage is not present at condenser. Upon further evaluation of system did find a weak outdoor run capacitor. It is weak on the condenser fan side and should be replaced. Recommend recommended replacing outdoor capacitor and signing client up for annual membership.
