Great service today. Joshua S. was the service technician that came to install my thermostat. He was very personable, professional, and knowledgeable. I essentially purchased the Mason service contract today because Joshua was excellent and represents the company well! Thanks Joshua!

Aaron quickly made an initial check of my Carrier system and agreed with my suspicion that it needed a new “run” capacitor. He made the necessary repair, got the system running, and completely checked it out so it is now running properly.

Mike and Jack were a pleasure to meet. They were extremely efficient and friendly! As frustrating as it can be to handle household issues, with Mason Air it has been so nice and easy to work with!

I’ve had seven different heating and air conditioning companies out to inspect my aging system, and evaluate the potential of replacing it. James is the one that I most trust. He was so patient to answer all of my detailed questions. All of his answers were congruent with my prior knowledge (background in automotive refrigeration). Some of the other agencies that have been to my house have given me patently false, even opposite, information on factual items. James was willing to go into the weeds with me, and (prior to work actually being done) has so far earned my trust. Also, no pressure, but also straight up regarding telling me how it is.
Response from Mason Air Conditioning & Heating:
Thank you so much for your 5-star review! We will share this with the team to let them know to keep up the amazing work!

- install secondary24 V UV light underneath evaporator coil - relocate existing UV light - Pull and clean evaporator coil - Pull and clean blower wheel - install hard start assist - additional 10% discount on top of the membership discount Relocated and replaced UV bulb in existing UV light, pulled and cleaned evaporator coil and blower wheel, pulled vacuum on system and recharged with refrigerant, installed secondary UV light underneath evaporator coil, installed hard start kit in condenser. Cycled and tested system, all operations OK at this time.
Perform tuneup on AC system. Inspected indoor and outdoor coils, flushed drain line, inspected blower wheel, checked temperatures, checked static pressure, checked refrigerant pressures, inspected all major and minor electrical components. Found heavy amount of biological growth buildup on evaporator coil and some on blower wheel, there is no indoor or outdoor surge protectors on system, and compressor has high startup amps. Gave client solutions for issues with system. Client chose solution 2. Scheduled to return Thursday, December 11 to pull and clean evaporator coil, pull and clean blower wheel, install a secondary UV light underneath evaporator coil, and install hard start assist to lower compressor startup amps. All is running and operating OK at this time.
No cooling, we were just out here in October to do a repair and replaced capacitor and installed hard start kit. Upon arrival found indoor fan running, but the compressor or condenser fan were not. Found high-pressure switch tripped. This is a non-resetable pressure switch and the pressure switch would have to be replaced. Jumped out pressure switch to test system And found that the condenser fan motor is bad. Gave client options for repairs, however, system is 8 years old and recommend replacing due to age and cost of repairs. Client chose to replace system, we are installing a new Goodman 2 ton heat pump package unit on Thursday, December 4. Client paid 50% deposit.
Gave client estimate to install mini split that they are supplying themselves. Client not looking to do project until after January and will call us when they are ready.
Client says that it only cools home when thermostat is set below 73°. Client keeps thermostat set at 76 and system does not blow out cold air. Tested system, thermostat is wiring and controlled by alarm company. AC is working good, getting a good temperature split. 50° air coming out of supply. Advised client to contact alarm company to determine if the thermostat or sensor needs to be replaced or adjusted.
Client states that air filter gets very dirty and is black every month when it is going to get changed. Noticed that return collar is very bent and damaged at return grill where the flex goes into it. Client approved for us to return tomorrow October 16 to make minor duct repairs and make sure there is no air leakage anywhere else in the duct line. Explain to client that we would inspect the other ductwork once we are in the crawlspace to make sure that there is no other tears or rips in ductwork. Also, there was no trap on drain. There should be a trap on drain because it’s on the negative pressure side of the unit. Got approval from client to Install P-trap on package unit. System is draining normally now at this time. Collected full payment for drain line repair, collected $305 deposit for duct repair. Need to collect $298.10 upon completion. Client signed up for an annual membership.
We need to send him a feild report. In your summary of today’s work please state that you returned today to perform in depth cleaning of air ducts but advised replacement due to age and amount of biological growth
Performed tuneup on AC system. Cleaned indoor and outdoor coils, flushed drain line, replaced air filter, inspected blower wheel, checked temperatures, checked static pressure, checked refrigerant pressures, inspected all major and minor electrical components. Found a 6 inch return flex in closet torn and leaking air, also found biological growth inside air handler, and compressor has high startup amps. Gave client solutions for issues with system. Client decided to go with replacing damaged duct, installed a 24 V UV lamp system to eliminate the biological growth, and installed hard start kit to reduce compressor start up amps. Scheduled for install to come out tomorrow, October 7 to make duct repair. Client paid in full. Cycled and tested system, all operations are OK at this time.
Please order air scrubber and install client will pay for air scrubber with credit card onsite once job completed
Had to return after install, system was not cooling adequately. Had to adjust TXV to proper superheat. Got superheat to 15°. Added 2 1/2 pounds of refrigerant to system to get some cooling to 9°. All operations OK at this time.
