Client wanted inspection of AC system and ductwork. Client says that they are having issues in the home with people getting sick and they have to change their air filter every couple of weeks. Also, client says that they’re hearing a very loud noise coming from condenser outside. Did a complete evaluation of system. Went in attic and examined ductwork. Found some air leakage in ductwork caused biological growth buildup around edges of Plenum. Also, client had rodents up in the attic and compromised all of the insulation. Found traces of biological growth buildup inside air handler. Looked at condenser And the noise that they were hearing was the fan not starting. The compressor was very loud because the condenser fan was not operating due to a bad capacitor and compressor had very high startup amps. Gave client solutions for issues with system, however, client decided that it would be more cost-effective to replace system And some of the ductwork as well as insulation removal. Starting
