Arrived onsite and the resident is a big diy guy in terms of replacing all his devices, but told us he noticed the wiring looked messy and potentially wasn’t right behind the dining room switches. We opened up the gangbox and the splices were messy, the dimmer has a black mark on it where it burnt somewhere in it life, and the splices weren’t all that good either. I discussed completely re-tying in the gangbox and installing a new single pole switch along with his smart switch he provided as well and he liked that idea. Both switches will be customer supplied and wont be covered by warranty. After we discussed that he took us down to the panel and showed me around and there is water pipes hanging in front of the panel, all put together with sharkbites. The panel had a ton of surface rust and it was also clear water had ran through it at one point because there was rust dripping out the bottom of the panel and down the wall. He is going to call the plumber out to have that all secured
