Installation of two new switches and one outlet located on the counter top next to the sink. Devices are currently back stabbed causing sensitive arc-faults to trip when wires were moved. Installation of new 15 amp AFCI breaker for the lighting circuit that malfunctions due to amount of trips within past few weeks. We were called out today to look at lights that were flickering in a kitchen. We determined the issue was caused by poor connections due to the device being “back-stabbed.” The devices were also starting to show signs of cracking due to metal plates being used. Due to the amount of times the arc-fault breaker had been tripped, we recommended replacement of the breaker as well. We also noted the panel lacked surge protection, and gave a solution to add a surge protector. Customer was only interested in fixing the circuit at this time, but would be interested in surge protection in the future.
