Pride Plumbing was called out for a leaking two-handle bathtub/shower faucet valve. Our inspection found that the valve's cartridges were faulty. We attempted to remove the valve handles, but they wouldn't come off. So, the customer decided to have us cap off the valve's hot and cold water supply lines since the shower head had its own separate water supply line and could be used independently. After using PEX piping and fittings to cap the water supply lines, we tested for leaks with no further issues. We also provided a cost estimate to replace the two-handle bathtub/shower faucet valve. This would require us to cut an access in the shower wall, replace the shower valve (along with short sections of its hot- and cold-water supply lines with new PEX piping and fittings), shower head, and downspout diverter, and add new handles along with stems, washers, seats, and escutcheons.
