Pride Plumbing was called out for a leaking polybutylene water line inside the wall of a decommissioned railcar. When we arrived, the customer already had the water shut off. He instructed us to go ahead and replace both hot and cold water lines because he didn’t know which side was leaking, and he felt they were old and needed replacing anyway. So, we cut them both out, replaced the water supply stops, but then ran into an issue inside the wall. There were two cross members about four feet apart that both had perfectly sized 1/2-inch holes drilled through them. The customer didn’t want to further damage the original walls, so we had to fish the new PEX lines down into the wall. Without being able to see, we had to feel around to pull them through, but we eventually got the pipes down through the existing holes and tied everything together. We turned the water back on, there were no leaks, and everything worked properly.
