Pride Plumbing was called out for a Rheem water heater not getting the water hot enough. Our inspection found that the unit's thermostats were still set to their factory settings and there wasn’t a Romex connector installed. We adjusted the thermostats to 127 degrees and installed a Romex connector. We tested the unit for proper operation with no further issues. We then noticed water on the floor near a toilet. We inspected the toilet and found a broken glue joint on its toilet flange. We pulled the toilet, cleaned the wax ring gasket off, ground off the old flange, installed a new Oatey 43612 PVC replacement flange (connecting it to the existing drain line with a new PVC piping and a Fernco coupling), installed a new wax ring gasket, replaced the toilet bolts, reset the toilet, replaced the toilet tank's braided stainless-steel water supply line, and tested for leaks, stability, and proper operation with no further issues.
