Demand call for heat pump from 2017 using air filter 16*25*1 not cooling properly. Upon arrival the customer showed me the thermostat, attic access, and system outside. She also provided me with an air filter today to replace. During my inspection I turned the system on ac mode and turned it down, I did hear the blower running but it wasn’t throwing cool air. I went to the outside unit and found it to not be turned on. After further investigation I found the system to not be getting low voltage to it. The wire outside was very brittle and had signs of corrosion. I went up to the attic and checked for low voltage and the system wasn’t sending anything to the outdoor unit. I checked the float switch and it was activated causing the outdoor unit to not receive signal. I looked further into why the float switch activated and found the primary drain line to have a small clog, I informed the customer about what was going on and asked if she knew where the primary drain line terminates.
