The reason for todays visit was to provide a solution on changing out an existing ceiling fan with a new “fan-chandelier”. Today’s visit included removing the single gang switch on the wall to see a broken switch bank as well as a switch bank that had multiple holes drilled into it. The switch itself was wired correctly for a switch controlled outlet and ceiling fan control. After looking into the fan swap, i saw a 200 amp Pre-1988 Westinghouse panel. Panel showed loose breakers, missing grounds, and missing whole home surge protector. Today we recommended on replacement of the fan, as well as the switch bank converting single switch to a two gang to house one switch for the fan and one for the outlet. We also provided a solution on changing out the electrical panel and installing a new whole home surge. Customer at this time will take some time to review the solutions and will schedule if deciding to move forward.
