Today’s visit was for light fixtures in closets falling out of the ceiling. The boxes that were holding the light fixtures were brittle, and the screw holes were broken. It looks to appear that the cause was overspray from when the house was originally built. We offered to install wafer lights in the closets, rather than replace the boxes and install the existing fixtures for aesthetic reasons. While doing the assessment, when looking at the panel, we noticed that there were multiple multi wire branch circuit on single pole breakers. We flagged this as a safety concern that should be addressed. However, the customer is having solar installed next week and wanted to confer with that company before replacing breakers since they will be addressing things in the panel.
