Arrived onsite and the resident told us about how the disposal had been tripping the circuit out occasionally, and that the breaker had been replaced recently. After investigating and testing at length the amp draw of the startup on the disposal is one possible problem because it was trying to spike to over 20 amps and tripping, other times it turned on fine and ran at 4.5 amps. I never saw the circuit pull more than 5.2 amps total unless the disposal was being flipped on and off. After a deeper dive and talks with the resident i found the disposal to be the problem. I ended up changing out the breaker that was bad and installing whole home surge protection as well after discussing the benefits with the resident. Afterwards i let them know if it keeps tripping that the disposal would need to be replaced.
