Pride Plumbing was called out to investigate the source of a water stain on a first-floor ceiling. Our inspection found that a wall-hung toilet in the second-floor women's restroom was causing the leak. First, we turned the water off to the toilet, removed its Sloan flush valve, and removed the toilet from the wall. When we removed the toilet off the wall, we found that a previous installer had installed a wax ring gasket on the toilet, and it was deteriorated and causing the leak. So, we cleaned the toilet flange, installed a new wall-hung toilet neoprene flange seal, and rehung the toilet. Next, we installed a new toilet spud and rebuilt the Sloan flush valve. Finally, we tested for leaks and proper operation of the toilet and Sloan flush valve and caulked around the base of the wall-hung toilet. We also provided a cost estimate to replace a non-working water cooler drinking fountain.
