Arrived onsite and was told the power randomly went out the other night in the upstairs bedroom, bathroom toilet area, and a stair lift outlet. The residents has most things all on power strips throughout the home, outlets and switches are significantly old in the home. I began at the panel and found the load wire on the breaker had a massive insurgence of amp draw when turned on, and then trips. After testing outlets upstairs we found there was a short on the circuit somewhere so we started tearing everything out we could in the given time frame, while correcting the wiring for the basement lighting. After talking to the resident, given the time and explanation he wants to think on continuing to extended diagnostics. He will let us know when he is ready.
