Arrived onsite and the resident showed us to the upstairs bedroom where they were using a plug in steamer the other day, and after use the power went out in this room and part of the other bedroom. After pulling devices out we found that everything was backstabbed and most were in rough condition in terms of retention. I found the issue with an outlet downstream in the other bedroom with partial power where the wires had burnt off the back of the outlet detaching power from the rest of the circuit. We brought the residents in to show them and advised them of what can happen in time with them left that way, and i discussed the solution to that problem which would be a redevice of the home. I also completed my assessment of the home. As for options today they opted to do the minimum to get the circuits working again, but were advised that the work and circuits would not be warrantied because they did not replace all devices on that circuit.
