Customer had lamp post, door bell, and foyer light not working. While troubleshooting the lamp post, I concluded there was no power which led me to the panel. I noticed that the panel was installed in 1982 which makes it over 50 years old. Panels should be replaced every twenty years to ensure they continue to function safely. Upon troubleshooting the light in the foyer not working, I saw that the devices in the home are also extremely old and beginning to fail. As soon as I removed the switch, the light began to work again. The devices are backstabbed as well which due to the heat from the electric running through, causes the connections to loosen over time. While troubleshooting the doorbell, I came to the conclusion that the chime is no longer working. It also appears to be aged.
