Installation of new GFCI device located on the kitchen 20 amp appliance circuit. Device currently is blinking red with notice to replace. With replacement of device we will also replace the load side outlet as well. We were called out today to look at a GFCI that was not working in the kitchen. We discovered that the microelectronics in the GFCI were fried, evidenced by the blinking trip light on the GFCI, requiring it to be replaced. While assessing the panel, we discovered evidence of overheating terminals on 3 breakers, requiring them to be replaced, as well as double tapped neutrals in the panel. We gave a solution to replace the GFCI and a receptacle on the same circuit, which the customer agreed to.
