Today’s visit was for running a new circuit from the home to the new shed. We would run a 120V, 20A circuit underground using directional boring from the main panel to the shed. This circuit would be protected by a dual function breaker. We added an option to run the circuit from the sub panel in the addition of the home. This panel is newer and has more space. The downside of this option is it is farther from the home and would require slight drywall repair. The final option is to replace the existing main panel. The panel is much older and should be replaced. It is an older split buss panel with no main breaker which is at full capacity. Especially after we run the new circuit for the shed. We would replace the panel, install a disconnect, update grounding and bonding, install surge protection, pull permit, and coordinate with the power company.
