I arrived to address items flagged by a home inspection report. The report stated that the unit had air leakage from the indoor attic AirHandler to the connecting supply plenum box. I identified where the “leaks” were located and used mastic seal to seal them. They were superficial and not actually leaking air but rather exposed a portion of the metal air handler cabinet. I also used foil tape to cover the temperature probe hole used to measure supply temperature for the unit. The existing duct work is hung as properly as it can be given the limited attic space and existing ductwork design. The large 16” return duct is only touching a rafter it is not resting on attic insulation. This will jot cause or contribute to deterioration of the flex ductwork. I did also brush away the none resistant debris that had fallen into the drain pan, since it was also tagged on the inspection report but is not restricting in any way. The system is running properly on departure.
