I arrived at our clients home for the downstairs unit not working properly. Our client said that the unit had intermittent problems. She felt as if it struggled to heat and cool the home for over the last year. She took me outside to show me the outdoor heat pump units and we both immediately saw that the downstairs heat pump was completely frozen over. I let her know that due to the current state of the frozen system I could only test and check certain electrical components today. I tested and inspected both outdoor heat pumps. Contractors and capacitors tested within manufacture specifications today. I then went into the attic and found that the downstairs air handler had a failed indoor blower motor. The indoor coil was completely frozen over as well. I took the model and serial number for the downstairs air handler and I was able to find that the equipment is still under parts warranty. We will contact the manufacturer and locate the motor for our client. She is aware of the
