Customer has a lack of cooling coming from her third floor Trane Hydro air handler: * Add arrival found thermostat calling for cooling set for 76 and indoor temperature is 72°- Air handler is off- Satisfied our temperature * Check air handler in attic back bedroom for a second fl: The air handler is off * Found the Hydro coil on both the supply and return line HOT * Check boiler in basement * Found zone valve open for a second floor, Hydro air handler Even though thermostat is not calling for heat * Disconnected wiring from zone valve- Valve remain open * shut Power to boiler with wires disconnected, and zone Valve remains open- Bad zone valve * Quoted customer for zone valve replacement and they approved * Shut power to boiler * removed wiring from zone valve * disconnected power head motor assembly from zone valve body * installed and secured brand new zone valve power head assembly on valve body * wire in new zone valve motor to thermostat and end switch * return power to boiler *
