Customer has having intermittent heating issues in the home: * At arrival, the furnace is on and running- 34 year old Trane furnace * The customer states that between cycles the furnace fails to fire sometimes and blows cold air * The customer stops to call for heating at the thermostat and blows some air into the furnace and then calls for heat again and the furnace works * Stop the call for heat from the thermostat and watch the furnace. Go through a normal shutdown cycle. * For heating again at the thermostat- the furnace fails to fire even though igniter glows up and gas valve opens * the igniter was inspected and is showing ware but so are all components * all safety’s , limits, pressure switch’s, control board and gas valve 34 years old * The customer was quoted for an igniter, but does not want to move forward with it, and it is also not recommended considering the age of the equipment * I performed a powder cloud test on the heat exchanger to confirm that there were no crack
