I arrived at our client home for a cooling maintenance inspection. I began by checking the indoor filter and treating the primary drain line. I proceeded outside and tested all the electrical components for the condenser unit. Everything passed inspection today, it the compressor does have high start amps. I showed this to Joseph and we discussed adding a hard start kit to help keep the compressor start amps within a reasonable range. The unit is tucked in a nook on the exterior of the home and the lack of “breathing room” can contribute to the compressor struggling over time. I then went up into the attic and tested the blower motor and ensured the zones were both responsive. We did also discuss adding air purification to the unit to help mitigate some of the pet hair in the home. I created and sent over the estimate regarding the relevant items discussed. The unit is cooling properly on departure.
