I performed a 2 system cooling maintenance on 2 gas systems. I checked amps, drains, cleanliness, electrical, filters, and safeties. When operation the systems are cooling good. I found that the drains are tied together and clogged. This is resulting in the downstairs thermostat going off periodically. During inspecting the indoor units, I found that the blower motors on both systems have bearings that are completely worn out. The upstair’s blower motor is filthy adding stress to the motor. The downstairs is starting with higher amps than what is recommended and the capacitor on the compressor side is reading under the manufacturer recommended rating. I offered a new capacitor and a hard start kit. Also, I provided an option for an electrical rebuild for the downstairs outdoor unit. I could not get the drains to clear. I referred the customer to a plumber and told him that we could set the systems up with condensate pumps.
