Arrived on Site to perform diagnostic on 1991 furnace. Homeowner states that system is not heating. It stopped working on Friday, worked again on Saturday and stopped working on Sunday and hasn’t worked again since. Cycled system for heating. Unit initiated heating cycle, but ignitor never turned on and system eventually locked out. Tested ignitor and it is bad. Also tested circuit board and circuit board is starting to fail, has not failed completely. Circuit board is failing to send voltage on every call for heat. Sometimes it will send voltage and other times it won’t. Blower motor has leaked significant amount of oil. Ductwork is old and inefficient. No AC. Went over findings and recommendations with homeowner. She would like to go over replacement options due to cost of repairs and age of equipment. Turnover appointment set for tomorrow December 13 from 2-4. System is not operational upon departure.
