Today we visited to reevaluate the unit and determine the best next step. The system has a failed compressor and is 10 years old. The manufacturer, Maytag, does not have the parts in stock and will need to be ordered. The repairs can be done on Tuesday of next week. Since the system is at the end of its expected useful life and requires an extensive repair it is wise to consider replacing it. The replacement can be done this week on Friday.
