Performed diagnostic on a 10yr old American standard AC Complaint that system cannot keep up on hot days, temperature increases despite system running non-stop Trane clean effects electronic air cleaner is OK Blower is OK Found a piece of plywood on top of the condenser causing it to recirculate hot air back into itself Removed plywood Condenser coil 100% plugged with lint and/or pollen Washed Condenser coil Allowed system to run and balance out. System low on refrigerant Spec is 10⁰ subcool +/-3⁰ Actual subcool was 0⁰ Added 1lb of R410a Added leak sealant with dye System now running 11⁰ subcool Signed up for maintenance plan Counted today as the cooling maintenance visit, so did not charge for Condenser cleaning. System is operating within factory specifications at this time.
