I called on a Wed afternoon and booked the first available appointment - Fri a.m. Was called Thu morning and offered a cancellation slot later Thu morning, which I really appreciated (snow in the forecast Thu eve ... might have cooled off inside.) Received a call around 30 min before Seth arrived. Seth was right on time, and was very professional and pleasant. He was able to restart the furnace almost immediately, but he still took the time to check for any possible sources of the failure, and he patiently explained a lot to me about how the unit functioned. While he wasn't able to discover why the furnace quit working, I felt confident he'd done a thorough check. He also took the time to talk to me about my concerns about a whole-house humidifier that had been installed by the another service provider. I would not hesitate to work with Westin, or Seth, in the future.

1st floor equipment will turn on in air conditioning mode but does not produce cooling System running refrigerant pressure test indicates a complete loss of all refrigerant Nitrogen pressure testing discovered a failed aluminum weld joints on the discharge line distribution manifold of the condenser coil Aluminum condenser coil needs replaced Parts warranty has been confirmed with 3 years remaining.
Upon arrival inspected furnace and with initial startup the inducer motor does not fully spin up as it should, when checking for voltage the motor was not receiving power and was not pulling amps. Control board was making a loud abnormal buzzing. Quote warranty control board, labor only no diag because I was just here for cooling maintenance.
Cooling preventative maintenance performed Check filter - Trane clean effects - filthy, wash with garden hose and reassemble Check coil for any buildup debris in drain pan and flush with water Set up thermometers Rinse down outdoor coil with garden hose Inspect outdoor unit - no concerns Hookup Daikin D-checker and verify no errors Delta T - 20° The Air handler and AC are in optimal running conditions.
Replace indoor coil under factory parts warranty. Pump down refrigerant into outdoor condenser unit. Remove flue vents and drain line for clearance. Installed new coil into existing casing. Installed new door with proper model and serial numbers for new coil. Replaced refrigerant filter drier. Open valves and test run operation. Charge in 4oz of new R410A to bring system to factory operating specs. Performed Gold cooling maintenance inspection after system was operating. 20x25x1 air filter is new today. 2019 carrier 13 seer 2.5 ton r410a cooling system was in desperate need of regular maintenance and cleaning and minor repair parts upon arrival today. The cased evaporator coil and all supply ducks in the mechanical room of the basement are sweating and condensating excessively due to restricted airflow on the indoor unit from a Honeywell 4-in filter installed backwards and sucked off the retainer screening, a heavily matted over and clogged up outdoor condenser coil, and a outdoor unit 370 volt power supply extremely below the specs. (40+5 @ 26+3.5) All contributing to very poor performance of the cooling system Install replacement air filter already on site and labeled the air cleaner with the proper air flow direction. Upon arrival inspected unit and found furnace setup moving high cfm doing low dehumidification. Adjust furnace settings to lower cfm for air conditioner bringing higher temperature drop, allowing unit to work faster and more efficiently dehumidifying. Thermostat occasionally goes into error state where it is blank and then says system wait once coming back. “System wait” is normal for any initial power up on the system. The thermostat should not be randomly going blank, adjusted wet switch to verify it stays dry unless drain errors are truly present. As well as adjust humidifier wiring to prevent any low voltage interference for thermostat. If problem persists unit may have a faulty thermostat or wet switch. Ss2 is the double locking tabs bucket style.
